Dear Clubs
Please see the following for nominations for the girls Sussex County trials which will happen on Sunday 6th & Sunday 13th October:
· Letter with regards to trials (please read fully) (pdf)
· Nomination form (pdf)
· U11 – U13 Talent Profile form to be completed (pdf)
· U15 – U17 Talent Profile form to be completed (pdf)
Please note this nominations are for any NEW players who did not play for the County in the 2013 season (they will automatically be invited to trials)
There will be a charge of £5 per player for trials.
The talent profile forms need to be completed for each player and their age group (so if you are nominating a player for the U11, U12 & U13 squads please fill in the U11-U13 talent profile form. A player for the U15 – U17 squad you need to complete the other talent profile form) these are important and will help the selectors before the trials know a bit more about the individual player (they will take less than 5 minutes to complete). The talent profiles work on a traffic light system please either fill out in colour or put a number in, and please add any comments if you feel appropriate:
1 (Red) – Weakness
2 (Yellow) – Has potential, just needs a bit more work
3 (Green) – Is a players strength
Please be honest with the talent profile form, the selectors will judge on what they see on the day, this just gives us an idea of where you feel the player is.
On the 6th October we will invite all new players to be seen and if we wish to see them again we will invite them to the second stage of trials on the 13th October where they will trial with this seasons county players (the under 11s and 17s will only trial once).
Please make sure all the forms are completed and sent back to me by Monday 23rd September.
Any questions then please do contact me.
Many Thanks

In 2012 the Sussex Cricket Board introduced the Women’s Indoor League which had four clubs involved and saw Ansty as the first winners.
This year the league was sponsored the Dean’s Leisure Centre, where the league was held and where the Sussex Women train. Seven clubs were involved this year, Ansty CC, Bells Yew Green CC, Chippingdale CC, Henfield CC, Horsham CC, Selsey CC and Steyning CC.
There were two leagues, with the winners which were Horsham and Ansty then competing in a final to determine the league champions.
Horsham batted first and posted 111 for 1, with Hannah Phelps, Jessica Saunders and Charlotte Walder all having to retire on 25.
Ansty, last year’s champions kept up with the run rate with captain, Natasha Sole retiring, but Horsham kept taking wickets at regular times and bowled and fielded tightly.
With Ansty needing 12 off the last over, Horsham kept the field tight and restricted Ansty to just 4 runs in the final over and winning by 8 runs to be crowned league champions.

Sussex Women & Girls community coach, Charlotte Burton, who runs the league said, “It is great to see more clubs involved this year and to have the support from the Dean's Leisure centre, which has helped make the league a success. The league enables the clubs to play more cricket throughout the year and it is a highly competitive league which helps develop player’s skills ready for the summer matches. The league will continue next year where we hope to have more clubs involved again.”
